The Chamber supports and empowered businesses in the CBRM. As the voice for business, we work alongside our members to influence public policy and shape the political agenda. The Chamber is a visible, active, and engaged advocate on several files and projects in our region, working collaboratively and frequently with all three levels of government and other economic development and community organizations.

We provide letters of support, policy submissions, and direct input on issues that impact the business community, ensuring local business voices are reflected in government decisions.

The Chamber fosters ongoing communication between businesses and decision-makers by hosting roundtables, forums, and engagement events. These initiatives surface real-time business issues, encourage information sharing, and create opportunities for members to engage directly with leaders on topics that matter most to their operations and growth.

Democratic & Policy Leadership

We are committed to strengthening the connection between business and the democratic process. The Chamber hosts initiatives such as Mayoral Forums during municipal elections so members can hear directly from candidates and understand their priorities. We also prepare and submit pre-budget recommendations and policy input to government on behalf of the business community.
